Bruxelles Propreté is a regional public body responsible for waste collection, treatment, street cleaning and raising awareness. It is a key player in the circular economy through its involvement in regional waste management.

There are door-to-door collections for general household waste and selective collections for some waste fractions (paper/cardboard, organic waste, green waste, PMD). Specific collection points are located throughout the region for certain types of waste, such as glass, chemicals and bulky items. There are six container parks for sorted waste, as well as products that can be reused through a partnership with ViTeS, a social economy company (Givekot). The Agency also collects professional waste on the basis of commercial contracts.

The organisation keeps over 400 km of municipal and regional roads clean by sweeping, cleaning drains, emptying litter bins, collecting leaves, etc.

The Agency plays a role in raising public awareness of the importance of waste sorting. It takes part in events, organises activities and distributes leaflets.

The Agency owns several waste treatment facilities in the region, including an incinerator with energy recovery, a paper/cardboard sorting centre and a green waste composting facility.
