Duplex was founded in 2020. At the end of 2023, it specialized in circular furniture and objects made from industrial surpluses and by-products, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional furniture manufacturing. Their materials are sourced from unused resources provided by industrial companies.
Product and services
Their first range of products uses wooden floor offcuts and includes chairs, stools, benches and coffee tables with a range of finishes and customisation options.
Another product range features lamps crafted from the revalorisation of two different materials: industrial stone offcuts from a Belgian blue stone quarry and unused metal tubes intended for disposal.
Expertise
The team behind Duplex Studio has mastered the entire product conception process, from sourcing to manufacturing parameters. They analyse surpluses, waste, offcuts, and by-product streams, storing substantial amounts of materials in-house once secured. They then reformat materials based on production guidelines and machine capabilities. Products are produced on demand and eco-designed, with a focus on material selection, mechanical assembly efficiency, sustainability and ease of repair to maximise the environmental impact of their creations.
