Presentation
The non-profit organisation Dung Dung is dedicated to valorising and recycling cut hair from hair salons across Belgium. The company uses the collected hair to manufacture products designed to absorb hydrocarbons and oils, thus providing a solution for pollution situations or in industrial environments concerned with effluent management.
Products & Services
Dung Dung designs a range of products by assembling the collected hair. The basic product comes in the form of an absorbent mat whose size is tailored to the needs of customers. These products are available either in raw form or packaged in reclaimed jute fabric.
The company also develops floating boom solutions for rivers, as well as more versatile products for industry.
Expertise
As part of an extensive collection logistics network, working with volunteers and collection points, Dung Dung has developed expertise in logistics management and relationships with customers and collection points, whether private (salons) or public (municipalities).
Dung Dung is also a member of a global alliance, Matter of Trust, and contributes in an open-source way through a vast network of committed collaborators worldwide. Sharing knowledge and production tools are at the heart of the company’s initiatives, with the aim of valorising as many materials as possible and increasing the impact of its bio-sourced products.
