Do you want to contribute to the development of a circular economy ? Are you looking for solutions to overconsumption of raw materials, to waste of resources, to waste overproduction, or even for nature-based solutions ?
With this first call for projects, “BELGIUM BUILDS BACK CIRCULAR” or BBBC, initiated by Ministers Zakia Khattabi and Pierre-Yves Dermagne, the federal government wants to support innovative projects that contribute to implementing activities and/or applied research integrating the circular dimension in four specific sectors.
BACKGROUND
This first call for BBBC projects is part of Belgium’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), <link to https://belgium.representation.ec.europa.eu/strategy-and-priorities/le-plan-de-relance-europeen-en-belgique_fr(link is external)> (in French, Dutch and German). The NRRP is financed by a temporary European fund, Next Generation EU <link to https://ec.europa.eu/info/strategy/recovery-plan-europe_en>(link is external), aimed at boosting the economy and supporting companies in European states heavily affected by COVID-19, while taking into account the goals of the Green Deal <link to https://www.health.belgium.be/en/green-deal-new-direction-european-union >. (The BBBC investment project supports the transition to a circular economy < https://www.health.belgium.be/en/circular-economy >). BBBC will be divided into two or three waves of calls for projects with different priorities and topics. The first call focuses on ecodesign, while the following calls will also include chemical substance substitution as a priority.
For this first call, the financial support per project amounts to a minimum of 250,000 euros and a maximum of 1,000,000 euros. Projects may be supported in accordance with the rules on State aid.
TOPICS

TARGET AUDIENCE
